What is manuka honey?

Manuka honey is a special type of honey made only by the bees who pollinate the manuka bushes of New Zealand. This honey is unique from other honeys, due to its denser consistency, dark brown colour and earthier flavour. Sounds like a dream!

Manuka honey is believed to have a positive impact on overall health – even more than other types of honey. It’s believed to improve skin, including acne and eczema – and it doesn’t stop there. Manuka honey is also believed to have amazing moisturising properties, helping your hair to fight frizz and improve shine!

Manuka honey grows wild throughout New Zealand. This is the only place in the world where manuka bushes can be found.

The Maori people, who are indigenous to New Zealand, have known of the benefits of the manuka bush for generations. They use the manuka bush for its medicinal properties, inhaling the steam from boiling manuka leaves, applying the oil as an antiseptic, and even using the bark to soothe skin conditions.
